Pegasus is a winged horse from Greek mythology, born from the blood of the Gorgon Medusa after she was beheaded by Perseus. He is often depicted as a white stallion and is associated with the Muses, as he created the spring of Hippocrene on Mount Helicon, which was said to inspire poetry.
Pegasus was tamed by the hero Bellerophon with the help of Athena and was used to defeat the Chimera. Later, he became a constellation and was tasked with carrying Zeus’ thunderbolts.
